In a talk titled “Justice as Spiritual Practice,” Messinger, president of American Jewish World Service, urged students toward social engagement: “Act with integrity, allow time for learning and reflection, but do not shy away from action.”
Stanford’s 118th Commencement Weekend, which is scheduled June 12-14, also will feature a Class Day lecture by neuroscientist Robert Sapolsky and a Baccalaureate address by Ruth W. Messinger, president of American Jewish World Service.
