A bull elephant at a watering hole in Namibia
Get the Flash Player to see this player.
A bull elephant at a watering hole in Etosha National Park in Namibia hears the audible sounds and senses the seismic frequencies of the recorded call of a female elephant in estrus. Each time the rumbling call is played, he stops and orients himself to best sense the call, played from a speaker concealed in a brush pile. (The motion in this video has been sped up.)
