Bay Area photographer NORMA QUINTANA has spent nine years following a traveling circus and earning the trust and respect of her subjects. The result is a collection of black-and-white pictures of the performers off stage, in moments playful and pensive, proudly perfecting their craft. The images can be seen at Bolívar House until Dec. 15 as part of an exhibit titled "The Life of a Traveling Circus." Hours are 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Quintana, who also is an educator in the field of social documentary, will give a talk Friday at 3 p.m. in Room 2 of the Cummings Art Building—followed by a reception at Bolívar House from 5 to 7 p.m.

In honor of National Disability Awareness Month, an assistive technology and resource fair will be held next Wednesday in Tresidder Union's Oak West Lounge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will feature state-of-the-art technology, interactive exhibits and information about on-campus resources and local organizations, such as Guide Dogs of the Bay Area and the Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors. Performing will be AXIS Dance Co., which consists of members with and without disabilities. Hosting the event are the Diversity and Access Office, the Office of Accessible Education and the Disability Staff Forum. Lunch will be served; RSVP to sheilas@stanford.edu.

On Monday, Oct. 30, the fourth in a series of brown-bag lunches honoring staff and faculty for their community volunteerism will be held in Tresidder's Oak West Lounge. This quarter's honorees for the Community Treasures program—sponsored by the Office of the President—are INGRID MENAFRA, WILLIAM WEBSTER and CHARMIN SMITH. They will be interviewed by LADORIS CORDELL, special counselor to the president for campus relations. The event will go from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., and desserts and beverages will be served. RSVP to elizabeth.ross@stanford.edu no later than Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Finally, laureates and lattes appear to go hand in hand. Structural biology Professor ROGER KORNBERG, winner of this year's Nobel Prize in chemistry, was soon after named customer of the week at Peet's Coffee & Tea at the Clark Center—where he goes every day for a medium nonfat masala chai latte or caffè latte. Winners receive one free beverage of their choice.
