Anthony Ricci, PhD, has been appointed associate professor of otolaryngology and, by courtesy, of molecular and cellular physiology, as of Oct. 1. His research interests focus on hair cell biophysics.
Sandhya Srinivas, MD, has been promoted to associate professor of medicine (oncology) as of Sept. 1. Srinivas is involved with the genito-urinary multidisciplinary tumor board at Stanford, which specializes in taking care of patients with prostate, renal, testicular or bladder cancer.
Joanna Wysocka, PhD, has been appointed assistant professor of chemical and systems biology and of developmental biology, as of Sept. 1. Her research focuses on the mechanistic basis by which covalent histone modifications regulate gene expression patterns during vertebrate development and differentiation. She also studies chromatin regulation in embryonic stem cells and the molecular basis of pluripotency.
David Liang, MD, has been promoted to assistant professor of medicine (cardiovascular) and, by courtesy, of electrical engineering, as of Sept. 1. His clinical research studies the use of echo to diagnose and guide cardiac treatment. He is also involved in studies of Marfan syndrome. In addition, he is working with faculty in other departments on the development of new medical devices.
Bruno Medeiros, MD, has been appointed assistant professor of medicine (hematology) as of Sept. 1. His clinical activities combine the development of novel therapeutic modalities with the care of patients with multiple malignant hematological disorders, such as acute and chronic leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative disorders.
Kristin Jensen, MD, has been appointed assistant professor of pathology at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, as of Aug. 1. Her research examines how to improve cytologic and histopathologic diagnosis and classification of disease. She has a special research interest in breast cancer. She is also associate director of cytopathology at the Palo Alto VA.
Jamie Zeitzer, PhD, has been appointed assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, as of Oct. 1. His research examines the neurochemistry and function of sleep and the effects of light on hypothalamic function.
