BY MICHAEL PEÑA
Hours, staff and select utilities on campus will be scaled back during the winter break, which will begin Wednesday, Dec. 20, and last through Monday, Jan. 1, 2007.
The Department of Public Safety will provide law enforcement and security services during the break, although its business office will be closed. For urgent business needs that cannot wait until campus re-opens, call 329-2413 and ask to speak with the on-duty watch commander.
Parking enforcement, shuttle schedulesParking and Transportation Services (P&TS) will be closed as well, and parking permit enforcement will be suspended in most campus A and C lots—with the exception of A parking facilities serving Stanford Hospital and the School of Medicine. These lots include L-9 at Quarry Extension, L-5 serving the Falk Center and Cardiovascular Research Building, L-15 and L-16 (from the Clark Center to the Medical School Office Building), Parking Structures 1 and 4, and the Hoover Pavilion lots. Regular Marguerite shuttle service also will be suspended during the break, with the exception of limited service to Stanford Hospital, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and Stanford Research Park. For the holiday schedule, go to the P&TS website, http://transportation.stanford.edu/.
However, parking restrictions in all resident lots and special zones—such as disabled parking, red zones, fire lanes and special permit stalls—will be enforced around the clock. Visit the P&TS website for a link to the "Parking and Circulation Map."
