Honors and Awards
ALBERT BANDURA, the David Starr Jordan Professor, has received the James Cattell Award from the American Psychological Society for lifetime outstanding contributions to the fields of personality and social psychology. The award will be conferred today at the society's meeting in Chicago.
LAZAR FLEISHMAN, a professor of Slavic languages and literatures, has been awarded the Boris Pasternak Prize. Renowned poet and past prize recipient Andrei Voznesensky presented Fleishman with the award at the opening of an exhibit of Pasternak's works and rare editions on display at the Hoover Memorial Pavilion through Aug. 27. Established three years ago by the Gorbachev Foundation, the Pasternak Prize is given to distinguished poets and literary scholars. This is the first time the award has been given to a non-Russian citizen.
