Complete information available for water report
In last week's Stanford Report (May 12, 2004), excerpts from the 2003 Annual Water Quality Report provided by Stanford Utilities were published in compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Health Services requirements for public notification. Due to editorial and production errors, the article was printed without an introductory paragraph, which clarifies the purpose of the Annual Drinking Water Report. In addition, incorrect formatting of Table 1 shifted the column headings and a few of the data points, which may have confused some readers.
It is the policy of the Stanford Utilities Division to fully inform its consumers about the water quality standards and typical concentrations of constituents found in the Stanford domestic water supply. A corrected copy of the 2003 Annual Water Quality Report table is now available online at http://news-service.stanford.edu/news/2004/may12/water-512.html. A complete copy of the Stanford 2003 Annual Water Quality Report is also accessible at the Stanford Utilities Water Resources and Environmental Quality web site, http://facilities.stanford.edu/environment.
