Los Angeles Times, Seattle Post Intelligencer, Reuters Health, UPI. Next time youÂ’re stung by a jellyfish and experience little pain, think of Alexa Boer Kimball, MD. The assistant professor of dermatology recently led a study on a topical, over-the-counter cream designed to protect against jellyfish stings; the cream appeared to be relatively effective. The LA Times was the first to jump on this story; the Post Intelligencer and a few smaller newspapers followed suit. Reuters Health and United Press International, along with several television and radio stations, also reported on the study.
