An eco-friendly building goes up
Eco-friendly and efficient, the Jerry Yang and Akiko Yamazaki Environment and Energy Building is going up on campus at the corner of Via Ortega and Panama Street. Jeffrey Koseff, co-director of the Woods Institute for the Environment, gives a video tour of the structure. Koseff says the new building, which is named for the alumni couple who donated $50 million for its construction, will use 50 percent less energy and 90 percent less water than a traditional building of comparable scale. The building is scheduled to open Nov. 15.
