Parents visit kids, go back to school over two-day event

L.A. Cicero Clayborne Carson

History Professor Clayborne Carson, director of the Martin Luther King Jr. Papers Project, taught a "Back to School Class" titled Martin Luther King’s Social Gospel and the Struggle for Justice on Friday as part of Parents’ Weekend. Event organizers say the roughly two-dozen classes offered Feb. 23-24, which included The Psychology of Aging: New Thoughts on Old Minds (Laura Carstensen) and Forensic DNA: New Power, New Questions (Hank Greely), were highlights of Parents’ Weekend. An estimated 2,800 parents and family members of students came to campus for the two-day event.
