Krumboltz wins Online Mental Health Research Award

John D. Krumboltz, professor of education and psychology, has won the Online Mental Health Research Award for the most outstanding research related to online mental health. The award was presented in August during the annual banquet of the International Society for Mental Health Online in conjunction with the American Psychological Association convention in Washington, D.C. The award-winning research study, co-authored with Christine Yeh and Tai Chang, evaluated the impact of an electronic support group for Asian American males at Stanford, a group traditionally reluctant to use face-to-face counseling services. Yeh is a 1996 doctoral graduate of the Stanford School of Education's counseling psychology program and currently is on the faculty of Columbia University's Teachers College. Chang is an assistant professor at Hofstra University.
