Prospective members of the Class of 2028 and new transfer students will visit Stanford for Admit Weekend, taking place Thursday, April 25, through Saturday, April 27. During the annual event, they will sample student life at Stanford by exploring the university’s academic, residential, athletic, and social opportunities.

Around 1,200 newly admitted undergraduates are expected to attend this weekend’s event, along with about 1,500 parents, guardians, and other guests. As per tradition, many new admits will arrive with luggage to stay overnight on campus. This year they will stay two nights.

Organizers have planned more than 140 events to help prospective undergraduates get to know the university. During check-in on Thursday, attendees can drop off luggage and pick up their name badges, which are required for everyone participating in Admit Weekend.

A schedule of Admit Weekend events is available online.

The weekend officially begins Thursday with the Dean’s Welcome by Richard H. Shaw, dean of undergraduate admission and financial aid. Throughout the three-day event, admits and their guests can attend academic department open houses, community center open houses, panel discussions, tabling events, classes with professors, walking tours of Stanford, which start in Memorial Court, and much more.

New students and their families can make financial aid drop-in appointments or attend “Finances and Your Stanford Education,” where representatives from the Student Services Center and the Financial Aid Office are available to discuss the student billing process, the types of financial aid available, and answer other financial aid questions.

Thursday and Friday, a student panel will discuss components of the Leland Scholars Program (LSP) and Stanford Summer Engineering Academy (SSEA), summer bridge programs for students to begin their Stanford experience in August. The Stanford Parents’ Club will also host a “Chat Table” on both days where parents of current students will answer questions. On Friday, the club will host a panel discussion with parents to discuss how to support students enrolled at Stanford.

On Thursday, admitted students and their guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch in dining halls across campus. Admit Weekend name badges will be required to enter the dining halls. Dinner in the dining halls will be held Thursday and Friday for admits only.

On Friday, staff from Residential & Dining Enterprises will be available to answer questions about student housing and dining. Also taking place is an activities fair featuring various student organizations.

Saturday’s program includes the April Symposium of Undergraduate Research and Public Service (ASURPS), where current Stanford undergraduates will present their research, arts, senior synthesis, and public service projects to the broader university community.

Other notable events this weekend include a dance expo, a picnic for “ProFro” (prospective frosh), and an a cappella showcase.

Newly admitted students attending Admit Weekend are encouraged to follow @engagestanford and @stanford on Instagram and use #Stanford2028 to share their excitement about joining the Class of 2028.
