Stanford University is pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Higher Education Workers Local 2007 on a new four-year contract for approximately 1,390 workers represented by SEIU at Stanford.

The agreement covers wages, benefits, and working conditions for SEIU-represented employees in various roles, including food service workers, custodians, maintenance workers, groundskeepers, life science technicians, and accelerator technologists in units across the university.

“Stanford employees, including our union-represented employees, provide vital support to the university’s teaching and research mission,” said Elizabeth Zacharias, Stanford vice president for human resources. “We are grateful to SEIU Local 2007’s negotiating team for their collaboration in reaching this tentative agreement.”

Negotiations began in May for a successor to the contract that was in effect from 2019 to Aug. 31, 2024. Discussions between the union and the university concluded on Saturday, Aug. 31. The terms of the agreement are subject to a vote of the members, which will occur soon.

Additional information on the negotiations is available on the Cardinal at Work website.
