The Stanford Redwood City campus, which officially opened in March 2019, is home to about 2,700 university staff members whose jobs range from development to finance to information technology. The campus is the university’s first significant expansion beyond the main campus, and it evokes the look, feel and warmth of Stanford, as this slideshow suggests.

Stanford alumnus Jerry Yang, founding partner of AME Cloud Ventures and co-founder of Yahoo!, has been elected chair of the Stanford University Board of Trustees, succeeding Jeff Raikes.
Using state-of-the-art fabrication and imaging, researchers watched the consequences of adding sculpted light to a catalyst during a chemical transformation. This work could inform more efficient – and potentially new – forms of catalysis.
