Dish main gate to close temporarily

Although the main entrance to the Dish recreational area at Stanford will be closed beginning Wednesday, April 24, pedestrians will be able to access the popular hiking trails at three other locations.

The main entrance to the Dish recreational area at Stanford will be closed beginning Wednesday, April 24, in connection with a PG&E pipeline replacement project.

Nearby work planned by PG&E will require the main gate, at Stanford Avenue and Junipero Serra Boulevard, to be closed through Friday, April 26.

The Dish itself, however, will remain open throughout this period and will be accessible to pedestrians by three other entrances: Alpine Gate, Frenchman’s Gate and Gerona Gate.

A later phase of the work will require the gate to be closed again this summer, probably in late July.

The Dish, which is popular among hikers and joggers, is open to the public from approximately sunrise to sunset year-round.

Updated closure information will be available at the Dish website.
