University Awards

Lernik Asserian, Todd Davies, and Katarina Guzman are this year’s recipients of the Lecturers Award for Teaching and Undergraduate Education.

The award recognizes alumni who use their education and experience to address society’s most urgent challenges and positively impact communities. This year's recipients are Jacqueline Novogratz and Paul R. Williams.

Ten members of the campus community are recognized for excellence in teaching, service, and academics.

The Stanford Alumni Association invites faculty and staff to nominate outstanding seniors and graduate students for the 2026 J.E. Wallace Sterling Award, Award of Excellence, and Graduate Student Community Impact Award. Nominations are due Feb. 17.

In a ceremony on March 18, economics Professor Mark Duggan received the Roland Prize and three research-community collaborations were honored.

José Padilla, ’74, and Fred Swaniker, MBA ’04, received the President’s Award for the Advancement of the Common Good, which honors alumni who have positively impacted communities.

Faculty member Polly Fordyce, students Ria Calcagno and Tilly Griffiths, and the Science Accelerating Girls’ Engagement (SAGE) Journey Program are recognized with the 2024 President’s Award for Excellence Through Diversity.

The following Academic Council Professoriate appointments, promotions, and reappointments for the periods indicated were reviewed by the Advisory Board of the Academic Council and approved by the president.

Sixteen postdoctoral scholars were honored in a ceremony last week for their work advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion on campus and beyond.
