Four Stanford faculty members have been named fellows in the 2023-24 Faculty Advancement Network (FAN) Institute on Inquiry, Equity, and Leadership in the Academic Department.

Faculty from across disciplines were honored by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, recognizing their excellence and leadership in work that advances the common good.

Five early-career scholars will contribute to Stanford’s research and teaching related to race and ethnicity.

Senators heard a presentation on the qualitative results of the campus-wide DEI survey and a report on faculty gains and losses. The Steering Committee also reported on the Stanford Anti-Doxxing Policy.

The Faculty Women’s Forum recognizes 14 faculty members and one staffer for their outstanding work supporting women at Stanford through role modeling, allyship, leadership, and sponsorship.

The awards recognize and honor individuals and programs that have made exceptional contributions to enhancing and supporting diversity within the Stanford community.

During the pandemic, the Faculty Women’s Forum has continued to provide opportunities for faculty members – regardless of gender – to discuss shared interests, concerns and ideas, and to engage in action promoting greater faculty equity, inclusion and success.

The speakers at the Faculty Senate meeting included Provost Persis Drell, Kathryn Ann “Kam” Moler, vice provost and dean of research, and Vianna Vo, president of the Associated Students of Stanford University.

The 2020 Faculty Resource Fair, which will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, will include a resource fair staffed by representatives from 30 campus offices, breakout sessions and a reception for faculty members and their families.
