Starting quarterback Davis Warren (football) has energized Cardinal fans during his first season with the team. The business and administration post-baccalaureate transferred from Michigan and is one of the highest-ranking players in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) for passing yards. He began the season with 167 pass attempts before his first interception, the longest streak in the country and tying Davis Mills’ school record from 2020.
Human biology junior Charlotte Kohler (women’s soccer) has been a constant during Stanford’s strong beginning to the season, starting every match while leading the Cardinal in goals, points, and shot attempts. The Woodside native has scored in seven of the initial 11 matches this season and was named to the midseason watch list for the Hermann Trophy, which is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year.
Senior Lex Young (men’s cross country) delivered a notable performance that contributed to Stanford’s fourth-place finish at the John McNichols Invitational. Young is from Camarillo, California, and has all the credentials to be a postseason factor: he was the Cardinal’s top runner at the NCAA Championships two years ago and the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.
Political science senior Alex Gheorghe (men’s water polo) has been a major player in Stanford’s outstanding start to the season. Originally from Bucharest, Gheorghe leads the team in earned exclusions while ranking fifth in goals. As a third-team All-American in 2025, Gheorghe is on the midseason watch list for the Peter J. Cutino Award, presented to the best player in collegiate water polo.
Management science and engineering senior Ipar Kurt (women’s volleyball) has been a stabilizing senior force for the Cardinal this season, ranking high on the team for kills and blocks. Originally from Istanbul, Kurt has competed with the Turkish national team, and she is coming off a season in which she was named an All-ACC second team selection.
Standout linebacker Jahsiah Galvan (football) is a fifth-year economics major who transferred to the Farm after two seasons at Northern Iowa. Galvan found a way to leave his mark last year, finishing third on the team with 50 tackles in just eight games. As of early October, Galvan has already made three starts at linebacker and garnered more than 20 tackles.
Bioengineering fifth-year Julia Flynn (women’s cross country) has delivered a pair of individual titles over the first three meets of the season, most recently pacing Stanford to a first-place outing at the John McNichols Invitational, in which the Cardinal locked up the top three spots. Two weeks prior, Flynn, originally from Michigan, won her first career race in wire-to-wire fashion, outdistancing the pack by 16 seconds.
Primary goalkeeper Rowan Schnebly (men’s soccer) is a four-year starter originally from Portland. He owns career records in net while holding Stanford records in shutouts and career goals-against average. The science, technology, and society fifth-year has already made 22 saves this season and is leading a Cardinal defense that has fueled a commanding start to the season.
International relations senior Star Horlock (field hockey) returned to action after competing internationally in 2025 and made an immediate impact as the Cardinal’s leading scorer with six goals early in the season – four of them game-winners. Horlock hails from Salisbury, England, and thanks to her offensive success, Stanford raced out to its best season start since 2021.
Groundbreaking innovations that begin in Stanford labs flow freely into private industry to improve human well-being, fuel the economy, and strengthen American competitiveness.
