Senior Alyssa Jones (track and field) holds Stanford records in the indoor and outdoor long jump, outdoor high jump, 4x100 relay, and indoor pentathlon. The civil engineering major also holds eight All-American titles, four conference championships, and recognition as the U.S. Under-20 Long Jump Champion and the ACC’s 2025 Field Indoor Most Valuable Performer. Jones was named to The Bowerman preseason watch list, collegiate track and field’s most prestigious honor.
Samir Banerjee (men’s tennis) was one of the nation’s standout performers a year ago, earning All-America and Academic All-America honors while helping Stanford win the ACC Championship in its first season in the conference. A senior majoring in science, technology, and society, Banerjee was recognized as Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.
Freshman Ana Bărbosu (women’s gymnastics) has already made her mark by winning a bronze medal on floor while representing Romania at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She also secured a gold medal at the 2025 European Championships on floor and a bronze medal at the European Championships in the all-around competition and on uneven bars.
Sophomore Megumi Field (artistic swimming) showcased her talents at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won silver for Team USA. Named a 2025 USA Artistic Swimming All-American, Field was a three-time individual champion with victories in team, trio, and duet. She will play a key role as Stanford attempts to win back-to-back national championships for the first time since a four-peat from 2005-08.
Junior Paula Martín Sampedro (women’s golf) was part of Stanford’s 2024 NCAA team championship and recognized as the 2024 Pac-12 Golfer of the Year. In 2025, she won the 122nd Women’s Amateur Championship and the European Ladies Amateur Championship.
With exceptional energy on the court, political science junior Sunaja “Nunu” Agara (women’s basketball) shines as the leading scorer for the Cardinal this season. Agara’s performance on the court landed her on the watch list for the 2026 Naismith Women’s College Player of the Year Award. Plus, she’s one of 20 nominees for the coveted 2026 Katrina McClain Award, recognizing the top power forward in women’s college basketball.
Redshirt junior Daniel Cardenas (wrestling) won the Pac-12 Championship in 2023, making him only the ninth freshman in school history to win a conference title. Cardenas has qualified for the NCAA championship twice during his career, placing fourth in the country as a sophomore to earn All-America honors. He was also a 2024 National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American.
Senior Asher Hong (men’s gymnastics) wowed as he took home a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics for Team USA. Hong is a two-time NCAA team champion and a six-time NCAA individual national champion. He is also a two-time All-Around champion (2023, 2025).
A standout competitor, Jenna Flynn (women’s water polo) played a pivotal role in securing Stanford’s NCAA championships in 2023 and 2025. A science, technology, and society major, Flynn is a two-time ACWPC All-American and also a 2024 Paris Olympian. She is the Cardinal’s leading returning scorer, producing 68 goals to go along with 31 assists last season.
Senior Taryn Kern (softball) tied the Cardinal softball program record for home runs with 19 in 2025, and she leads the team for On-Base Plus Slugging (OPS), which reflects a hitter’s ability to reach base. The biology major earned numerous accolades in 2023 for being one of the top collegiate players in the nation.
Freshman Ebuka Okorie (men’s basketball) has dazzled for the Cardinal this season, leading the team in scoring and ranking eighth nationally with 22.1 points per game. Okorie ranks third nationally in scoring among freshmen, and he has opened the calendar year with a 28-point performance in a win over No. 16 Louisville and a 31-point outing against Virginia Tech, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds to play. He broke Stanford’s freshman scoring record with 32 points against Colorado.
A decorated Olympian, Torri Huske (women’s swimming) competed in both the 2020 and 2024 Olympics and earned three gold and three silver medals for swimming. Huske, a redshirt senior majoring in design, is also a two-time NCAA Champion and a 21-time NCAA All-American.
A remarkable middle-distance competitor, senior Juliette Whittaker (track and field) was a finalist in the 800-meter at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The science, technology, and society major is also a three-time NCAA Champion and eight-time All-American.
Before coming to Stanford, sophomore Rintaro Sasaki (baseball) set the Japanese high school record with 140 career home runs. He was named to the ACC All-Academic Team in 2025 and shares an alma mater with MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani. Sasaki was also selected in the first round of the NPB Draft earlier this year.
A key member of the team, Célia Dupré (women’s rowing) is a two-time NCAA team champion who represented the Swiss National Team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she placed fourth. The human biology junior was also a 2023 NCAA champion in the Varsity Eight.
