The U.S. House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party recently sent a letter to six universities, including Stanford, making a request for information. 

We have received and are reviewing the committee’s letter carefully to address its request for information. We continue to believe it is important for the U.S. to work on pressing challenges with the best and brightest students and scholars from around the world, while also taking the appropriate steps to assure the security and integrity of the research environment. 

The information that has been requested is aggregate in nature, not individual personal information. Stanford will continue working to support our students and also to fulfill our legal obligations in protecting individual student privacy.
