Staff Groups come together to celebrate 2023

Stanford Staff Groups hosted the annual holiday party at Kingscote Gardens in collaboration with the Diversity and Access Office on Thursday.

Staff from across the university gathered over heaping plates of food Thursday to celebrate the end of the year, embrace old friends, meet new ones, and more during the annual holiday party held by Stanford Staff Groups and the Diversity and Access Office.

In 2022, more than 16,000 staff members worked at Stanford and supported the university’s learning and research priorities. Stanford Staff Groups were established more than 30 years ago to provide staff with opportunities for professional, educational, and social support.

“The staff groups do this wonderful service for our Stanford community on their own time and in addition to their everyday job here at Stanford,” said Krista Martinelli, director of the Diversity and Access Office. “They put on amazing events and they pull our community together.”

Some of the Stanford Staff Groups’ annual events include the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, Multicultural Springfest, and the Lunar New Year Celebration.

“It’s for everyone to be able to be their authentic selves, to celebrate as they are, who they are, and to come together so we all can join in celebrations that are about what our community really needs,” Martinelli said.
