Presidential Search Committee launches survey

On Oct. 11, 2023, the Presidential Search Committee announced a survey to elicit input from our community on the selection of the next university president. The survey was shared with faculty, students, postdocs, and staff, as well as with alumni and parents of undergraduate students.

As the co-chairs of the committee have said, the success of the presidential search depends upon understanding the community’s expectations and aspirations for Stanford’s next leader. These insights and perspectives are invaluable and will help ensure that the process incorporates thinking from across the community.

Information about accessing the survey is available here.

If you are an alum or parent of an undergraduate student, please check your inbox for an email from the Stanford Presidential Search Committee. If you can’t find the email, reach out to insights@alumni.stanford.edu.

Note that, in an effort to make the survey as inclusive as possible, some members of the community will have received the survey twice, for instance as a faculty member and as an alum. If you have received more than one survey, please know that the questions are consistent across each, and you are welcome to take either survey.

We kindly request that you complete the survey and share your input by no later than Oct. 27, 2023.

This survey is confidential but not anonymous. Your responses will not be shared in any way that would identify you. The committee does, however, plan to share a summary of themes that surfaced through this survey and through other listening sessions later this fall.

Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to share your thoughts. We appreciate and value your participation and engagement in helping Stanford select its next leader.

Sincerely,

Stanford Presidential Search Committee Co-Chairs
