Marguerite returns to pre-pandemic passenger capacity

Beginning July 19, capacity limits will be lifted on all Marguerite buses. Face coverings will continue to be required for passengers regardless of their vaccination status.

Beginning July 19, Stanford’s free Marguerite shuttle will lift the physical distancing protocols and temporary passenger capacity limits implemented earlier in the pandemic and return to pre-pandemic passenger capacity. Note that face coverings continue to be required  on Stanford’s Marguerite shuttles and in transportation hubs regardless of vaccination status. Stanford Transportation appreciates the campus community’s patience as we complied with mandates that restricted some passengers from boarding due to capacity limits over the past year.

Additional safety measures

  • Face coverings continue to be required on Marguerite buses and in transportation hubs regardless of vaccination status.
  • Rear-door boarding for passengers will continue. Please note that front-door boarding is reserved for those requiring ADA ramp access or priority seating.
  • Safety barriers were previously installed between the driver and passengers and will continue to be in place.
  • We continue the enhanced cleaning of interiors and frequently touched surfaces on Marguerite buses using alcohol-based disinfectant recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.

Please refer to our additional COVID-19 safety tips for taking public transit.

While we are providing general information to help you consider your options, transportation is a personal choice. We encourage the Stanford community to assess and select the option(s) that best meet their needs.
