Free door-to-door service to vaccination sites in Santa Clara County

Need a ride to your vaccine appointment? Stanford Transportation’s website offers information about a number of different options for getting to and from vaccination sites. The latest is an announcement that Santa Clara County and Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) have launched a free, door-to-door service for those in need of transportation. Accessible VTA paratransit vehicles pick up patients, take them to their appointment, wait for them, and then provide the return trip, as long as the trip is within Santa Clara County’s service area. VTA says anyone for whom transportation is a barrier to getting vaccinated can utilize this service seven days a week if they live or work in Santa Clara County.

To request VTA’s free service, call the COVID-19 Assistance Navigation resource hotline at 408.809.2124 at least 48 hours prior to your vaccine appointment. VTA can provide up to 50 rides per day. Santa Clara County’s website offers additional COVID-19 vaccine information.
