Stanford Today introduces ability to receive email notice of selected topics of interest

Stanford Today, the website that curates essential news and information for students, faculty, staff and postdocs, now offers the ability to subscribe to email notifications of new announcements matching selected interests.

The selections include four topics: leadership communications, health & wellness, transportation and University IT. In addition, there are selections specific to campus audiences. Those interested in faculty announcements can select content about faculty awards and the Faculty Senate. Staff selections include content that falls under “getting work done,” and “resources for you.” Students and postdocs can choose content for undergraduates, graduate students and postdocs. People can select as many areas of interest as they’d like.

Stanford Today, which is designed as the university’s internal newsfeed, features content contributed by more than 80 schools and administrative units across campus. Each evening subscribers will receive an email linking to content in their selected categories that has been published on Stanford Today that day.

Unlike Stanford Report for faculty and staff or Re-Approaching Stanford for students and postdocs, the email is not a curated selection of content. Rather it is designed to be a comprehensive alert for all the information published on Stanford Today that matches the areas of interest.

The initial selections for the email digest were chosen to cover the interests of the various campus audiences. We welcome suggestions from the campus community for other content areas as well.
