Webinars on COVID-19 Surveillance Testing program offered

Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) is hosting two webinars before winter closure to provide an overview of the COVID-19 Surveillance Testing program before the winter quarter begins, now that testing will be required for employees working on-site.

As announced in the Provost’s Nov. 20 email, to promote the health and safety of staff, faculty, students and the broader community, starting Jan. 4, all faculty, staff and postdocs who are authorized to work on-site in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, including on the main campus and Stanford Redwood City campus, will be required to participate in the COVID-19 Surveillance Testing program through the end of winter quarter. Previously, faculty and staff working on-site were voluntarily participating in the testing program, which has helped keep Stanford’s COVID-19 infection rates low.

Those who work on-site one day a week or more will be required to test once a week. Those who work on-site less than once a week or are approved to come on-site on a one-time basis will test on the day they are scheduled to be on-site.

The Environmental Health & Safety webinars are on Dec. 8 and Dec. 10. Faculty, staff and postdocs who will be required to work on-site in January were sent an email invitation from University Human Resources to register.

Both webinars will cover:

  • Who is required to get tested and how often
  • How to register for the testing program
  • Where testing sites are located
  • Winter closure testing sites and hours
  • How to self-administer and submit the test

Register for a webinar through STARS. A recording of the webinar will be available on Health Alerts in January.
