Stock Farm Garage to temporarily close Dec. 5-6 and 12-13
Stock Farm Garage will be closed for cleaning and inspections over a few days in December. Parking permit holders and bike cage users are advised to avoid parking in the garage on the following dates:
- Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6,
- Saturday, Dec. 12, and Sunday, Dec. 13.
Due to the temporary closure, all cars parked in the garage during the dates designated for garage cleaning and inspection may be subject to towing at the owner’s expense, even those with valid parking permits. Please note that parking on the main campus is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Customers are advised to remove their bikes from the garage and bike cage during this time. Bicycles left in the bike cage will not be removed and may be affected by cleaning activities at the customer’s own risk.
Crews will use leaf blowers, street sweepers, high-pressure water, and steam to clean the structure. Staff will also check that the garage is up to code, including inspecting smoke detectors and sump pumps.
Nearby parking alternatives for Stanford permit holders include:
- Stock Farm North Lot (L-18)
- Stock Farm South Lot (L-17)
- Jordan Quad Lot (L-21)
- Searsville Lot (L-22)
- Via Ortega Garage
If you have an active permit and need assistance determining parking locations for evening and weekend visits, we have developed a table of Permits Valid ‘After Hours’ by Space.
Bike cage users may relocate their bicycles to the bike rack adjacent to the Enterprise Car Rental office on the east end of the Stock Farm North Lot (L-18).
Tips to avoid citation
As a reminder, customers are required to have a parking permit to park on the main campus at all times and permits must correspond to permit type with a few after-hours exceptions:
- Throughout the weekend and on weekdays between 4 p.m. and 6 a.m., all long-term, Stanford-issued parking permits (e.g., commuter, resident, and Courtesy ‘After-Hours’ permits) are valid in any ‘A,’ ‘C,’ ‘Z,’ or ‘Motorcycle’ permit space.
- In addition, they are valid in visitor spaces in Roth Way Garage and the Beckman Center Lot (L-15).
To help you avoid potential citations, we offer a page of Five Tips When Using the Virtual Permit System, which includes things to keep in mind when purchasing or registering for a permit in the online ordering system.
Please note that vehicles cannot be left in commuter parking areas for more than 72 hours. In accordance with Stanford University Traffic and Parking Code Section 3.8 on Storage of Vehicles, no vehicle can be stored unless an exception is granted.
