With help from the new and former chiefs of staff, the new president settles in
MARC TESSIER-LAVIGNE began his tenure as Stanford’s 11th president on Thursday, Sept. 1.
His day included a meeting with JEFF WACHTEL, who served as senior assistant to the president—essentially chief of staff—for JOHN HENNESSY, and ROBERTA KATZ, who is the interim chief of staff.
Katz served as associate vice president for strategic planning. Wachtel is now executive director of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program.
