Academy Award nominee J. Christian Jensen sits down with Stanford Video

Earlier this quarter, when J. CHRISTIAN JENSEN was in the campus video studio to conduct an interview with Al Jazeera, the staff in the studio decided to seize the opportunity to get their own footage of the rising star. Jensen, an alumnus and currently a lecturer in Stanford’s MFA Documentary Film and Video Program, is up for an Academy Award this weekend in the Best Documentary Short Subject category. His film, White Earth, garnered a silver medal in 2014 from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Student Academy Awards.¬† Jensen, MFA ’13, created White Earth as his master’s thesis.

It was not the first time Jensen had been in Stanford Video, a 24/7 operation that offers a full range of video production services. According to Director GORDON GURLEY, Jensen worked for Stanford Video as a student video editor a few years ago.

“We had no idea we were interviewing a future Academy Award nominee,” Gurley said.
