Scenes from the Graduate Student Family Carnival

The gathering was a place for grad students and their families to meet friends while enjoying a train ride, petting zoo, lawn games, arts and crafts, and lunch on the Abrams Courtyard lawn.

A Hogwarts Express train ride and petting zoo featuring a glistening giant snake wowed the crowd at this year’s Graduate Student Family Carnival, held Saturday, May 20, at Escondido Village. No one was too young to participate, even if it was to simply cheer on other kids attempting an obstacle course. Giant Lego-style blocks attracted as many parents as children. Arts and crafts booths included ever-popular balloon animals and temporary tattoos for little hands, and the Department of Public Safety assisted with child fingerprinting. Live entertainment and lunch rounded out the offerings on a classically warm and sunny spring day at Stanford. The event was hosted by the Graduate Life Office and Family Community Associates, with support from the Graduate Student Association.
