Students take over the Art Gallery

Student artwork will be on display at the Stanford Art Gallery for the 8th Annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition through Dec. 9.

After a two-year hiatus, the annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition is back at the Stanford Art Gallery.

Presented by the Department of Art & Art History, the annual show – now in its eighth year – features original art by current Stanford undergraduate students and recent alumni. The artists come from across the globe and represent a wide range of fields and disciplines. This year’s exhibition, titled “Spill Over,” features diverse works of art, including digital photography, sculptures, oil on canvas, and a documentary.

The exhibition was curated by Terry Berlier, associate professor of art and art history, and Katie Dieter, associate director, African & African American Studies.

“I am so moved and impressed with the variety of pieces in this year’s exhibit, featuring artworks that express intense emotion, playful humor, technical precision, longing, and mourning,” Dieter said. “I’m so proud of the Stanford undergraduate students who participated in this year’s exhibit!”

Following is a preview of this year’s exhibition, which runs through Friday, Dec. 9.
