Stanford to host livestream conversation with Bill Gates

The Stanford community is invited to attend a free livestream conversation with Bill Gates, Microsoft founder turned philanthropist, who will be talking about his new book, How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have And The Breakthroughs We Need.
Stanford students are invited to submit questions for Gates in advance through the link on the event webpage here. Selected questions will be recorded and presented during the program. Please send questions by Wednesday, Feb 10. Students whose questions are selected will receive a free copy of the book.
Gates, who is the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and founder of Breakthrough Energy, will share what he’s learned about the complex and far-reaching challenge of climate change and why he remains hopeful that the world can overcome it.
Gates will be joined in conversation by Stanford President Marc Tessier-Lavigne and Arun Majumdar, the Jay Precourt Provostial Chair Professor at Stanford.
The event is co-sponsored by Stanford’s Precourt Institute for Energy and the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment.
