Members of H&S dean's search committee announced

The process to select a new dean for the School of Humanities and Sciences to succeed John Shoven is under way.

A 16-member search committee co-chaired by Provost Condoleezza Rice and economics Professor John Taylor has been assembled and will begin meeting soon, Rice told members of the Faculty Senate on Feb. 19.

Other members of the search committee are Professors John Brauman, chemistry; Brad Efron, statistics; Harry Elam, drama; Stephen Hinton, music; Ellen Markman, psychology; Michael McFaul, political science; Robert Polhemus, English; Mary Louise Roberts, history; Lucy Shapiro, developmental biology; Guadalupe Valdes, Spanish and Portuguese; students Bill Shen and Kevin Iga; and Kathy Gillam and Elizabeth Ross of the Provost's Office, who will staff the committee.
