Gibbons inducted into Silicon Valley Engineering Hall of Fame

James F. Gibbons, dean emeritus of the School of Engineering, was one of three people inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Hall of Fame this year. The Silicon Valley Engineering Hall of Fame is sponsored by the Silicon Valley Engineering Council. Its aim is to celebrate the accomplishments of engineers in the area who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and have made significant contributions to the community. Gibbons joins such local engineering luminaries as A. Louis London, Frederick Terman, William Hewlett, David Packard, John Linvill, Robert Noyce, Russell and Sigurd Varian, Joseph Franzini, Edward Ginzton, William Perry and David Thompson. The induction ceremony was held Feb. 20.
