Dance concert on October 12

STANFORD -- The Stanford dance division will present the annual "Mostly Alumni Dance Concert" at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in the Roble Dance Studio, 375 Santa Teresa St., on the Stanford campus. The concert will be followed by "Jammix," an eclectic dance party.

The concert will feature original choreography and performances by generations of Stanford alumni, many of whom have continued with professional involvement in dance, as teachers, performers or choreographers. Styles range from vintage social dance to contemporary modern dance. This year's concert features performances by young members of the School for Performing Arts founded by Stanford alumna Dierdra Hawkins.

The winner of the fourth annual Mary Edith Clifford Award, which provides financial support to an alumnus to choreograph a dance piece for current Stanford students, will be announced at the concert.

A $5 donation is requested at the door to help maintain the Mary Edith Clifford Award. Roble Dance Studio is wheelchair accessible.
