EDITOR'S ADVISORY: Revised Sand Hill Road, Stanford Shopping Center and Stanford West proposals to be presented at April 28 community meeting

STANFORD -- Stanford University officials will present revised proposals to improve Sand Hill Road, expand the Stanford Shopping Center and construct multi-family and senior housing communities on the site known as "Stanford West" at a community meeting Thursday, April 28.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 1985 Louis Road (at Embarcadero) in Palo Alto.

Stanford's original proposals have been significantly revised as a result of community comment received during a just-completed seven-month community outreach program. More than 800 residents of Menlo Park and Palo Alto participated in the program through attendance at small neighborhood and larger community meetings, as well as workshop sessions.

After the April 28 meeting, at which details of the new Stanford proposals will be unveiled, Stanford then will submit the proposals to the cities of Palo Alto and Menlo Park. Palo Alto, as the lead public agency, will conduct the environmental impact review process.
