Moffatt Hancock to be remembered at Jan. 28 service

STANFORD -- Moffatt Hancock, the Stanford Law School's Marion Rice Kirkwood Professor Emeritus, will be remembered at a public service at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, in Stanford Memorial Church.

An active member of the Law School faculty for 23 years, Hancock died Dec. 5 at the Stanford University Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Eileen, who lives on the Stanford campus, and two children and six grandchildren.

The Jan. 28 service will include tributes by Law Professor Gerald Gunther, former Professor John Richard McDonough, Judge James Ware (J.D. 1972) and Peter Koerber, Hancock's son-in-law.

Following the memorial service, at approximately 5 p.m., a reception will be held in the Manning Faculty Lounge at the Stanford Law School.
