Stanford received $185 million in gifts in 1991-92

STANFORD -- Stanford University received $185 million in gifts from private donors during the fiscal year that ended Aug. 31, reported John B. Ford, vice president for development.

"It's a very good result for the first year following a rigorous five-year campaign," Ford said, referring to the Centennial Campaign that raised more than $1.25 billion.

"In fact, the university's supporters gave $5 million more than last year," Ford said. "We are pleased that the Stanford family came through in such generous, far-sighted fashion."

Individual donors gave $109 million, of which $21 million came in the form of bequests. Corporations gave $38 million, and grants from foundations and associations amounted to $39 million. Gifts to the Annual Fund from alumni a nd their families totaled $18.8 million.
