Stanford Community Carnival set for April 11

STANFORD -- The 1992 Stanford Community Carnival, a benefit for the Arbor Free Clinic, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Florence Moore Field on Mayfield Avenue in the central campus.

The carnival is sponsored by the Stanford Volunteer Network and the Haas Center for Public Service.

Events include game booths, an improvisational theater group, a dunking booth, musical and dance entertainment, and food and drinks. Children receive 12 free tickets to use for booths and food; adults and Stanford students are charged 25 cents per ticket, as are children who want to use more than a dozen tickets.

Proceeds go to the new Arbor Free Clinic, which offers free medical care by students at the Stanford School of Medicine to the homeless and other needy people.

For more information, contact the Student Volunteer Network at (415) 723-0054. The coordinator of the 1992 carnival is Elson Liu.
