"Spring Clean-Up" for campus residents April 11

Peninsula Sanitary Service Inc., the campus' primary garbage collector and recycling contractor, has scheduled a "Spring Clean-Up" for Saturday, April 11, starting at 7 a.m.

The special collection offers residents of the faculty- staff housing areas the opportunity to discard bagged, boxed and bundled trash as well as furniture and appliances.

Yard waste also will be collected but must be prepared and left apart from other materials.

Accepted items include:

Items that should not be included for curbside pickup are yard waste, hazardous materials, rocks, dirt, concrete or automobile parts.

Yard waste should be placed 12 inches from the curb in compact piles no more than five feet high or wide. This material must not be bagged.

Residents who need more information on how to get rid of trash and other items during this special clean-up should call Peninsula Sanitary Service at 321-4236.
