Author Tobias Wolff to read from new novel Nov. 17 at Stanford

Tobias Wolff, the Ward W. and Priscilla B. Woods Professor in the English Department, will read from his newly published novel, Old School, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in Kresge Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Wolff, who teaches creative writing, is the author of the memoirs This Boy's Life and In Pharaoh's Army, the novella The Barracks Thief, and three collections of short stories: In the Garden of the North American Martyrs, Back in the World and The Night in Question. He has received numerous literary awards, including the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. His work has appeared regularly in magazines, including The New Yorker, The Atlantic and Harper's.

The event is sponsored by the Continuing Studies Program and the Creative Writing Program.
