Dance Division presents 'Dancing: Bringin' It Home,' Saturday, Nov. 11

The Stanford Dance Division will present "Dancing: Bringin' It Home," its annual concert of works by alumni choreographers and dancers, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in the Roble Dance Studio, 375 Santa Teresa St. on campus.

Selected alumni who have earned reputations as leaders in the Bay Area and national dance communities have been invited to present their work. The concert will feature original choreography and performances by graduates from as far back as the mid-1970s. These individuals have continued with professional involvement in dance, either as teachers, performers or choreographers. Offerings will range in style from modern dance to vintage social dance and tango.

Also that evening, the Dance Division will announce the winner of the 8th annual Mary Edith Clifford Alumni Choreography Award, which provides financial support to an alumnus or alumna to choreograph a dance piece featuring current Stanford students. Clifford, a Stanford alumna who died in 1994, was instrumental in the construction of Roble Dance Studio in the 1920s and is remembered for her enthusiastic of support of the Dance Division.

A $10 donation ($5 for students and seniors) is requested. Roble Dance Studio is wheelchair accessible. For more information, call Tony Kramer at (650) 725-0740.
