Faculty Senate to discuss impact of federal budget on research at Stanford

At the third meeting of winter quarter on Thursday, the senate will hear reports on the impact of potential changes in the federal budget on research at Stanford. The three speakers are:

  • Peter F. Michelson, professor of physics and chair of the Academic Council's Committee on Research at Stanford
  • Ann Arvin, vice provost and dean of research at Stanford
  • Ryan Adesnik, director of federal government relations at Stanford

A 35-minute question-and-answer period will follow the presentations.

The senate meeting will begin at 3:15 p.m. in Room 180 of the Law School. Discussion is limited to members of the senate, but members of the Stanford community may request to attend the meeting by contacting the Academic Secretary's Office at 723-4992 or Trish Del Pozzo at delpozzo@stanford.edu.
