Faculty Senate to meet Thursday

The senate will hear a report from the dean of the Graduate School of Business and from a panel discussing student mental health and well-being.

In its second meeting of winter quarter, the senate will hear a presentation by Garth Saloner, the Philip H. Knight Professor and Dean of the Graduate School of Business.

Saloner, who became dean of the Business School in 2009, has been a member of Stanford's faculty since 1990. He has taught management, strategy, entrepreneurship and e-commerce, and is a two-time winner of the Distinguished Teaching Award from MBA students.

The senate also will hear a presentation by a panel discussing student mental health and well-being on The Farm.

The panel will include: Dr. Ira Friedman, director of Vaden Health Center; Angelina Cardona, president of the Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU); and Dr. Peter Kao, associate professor of pulmonary and critical care medicine.
