Maren Aukerman receives award from International Reading Association
MAREN S. AUKERMAN, assistant professor of education, was recently awarded the 2009 Albert J. Harris Award by the International Reading Association for her article "When Reading It Wrong Is Getting It Right: Shared Evaluation Pedagogy Among Struggling Fifth Grade Readers," published in Research in the Teaching of English, Vol. 42, No. 1. The award, which comes with a $1,000 check, is given annually for a recently published journal article that makes an outstanding contribution to the understanding of prevention or assessment of reading or learning disabilities. The association is a nonprofit global network of individuals and institutions committed to worldwide literacy.
