Tired of faculty photo? It's time to get another

If Hollywood issues casting calls to find actors for a film, the School of Medicine is issuing a call for faculty to prepare them for fame—by taking their photos.

The medical school's public Web and new media group will host photo shoots for all basic science and clinical research faculty on May 20 and May 28. The goal is to create a collection of up-to-date portraits of all medical school faculty to be available for use by news media and the school's print publications and its Web site. All participants will receive copies of their portrait photos for their own use.

All basic science and clinical science faculty who are not credentialed at Stanford Hospital & Clinics or Lucile Packard Children's Hospital are invited to participate in the photo session. Clinical faculty involved in patient care at the hospitals are encouraged to attend the physician photo shoots regularly offered by the hospitals.

The photos will be taken in the ground-floor lobby of the Beckman Center on a first-come, first-served basis from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each session will take 5 to 10 minutes.
