Postmenopausal women needed for diet study

A team of researchers led by Gerald M. Reaven, MD, emeritus professor of medicine, is looking for volunteers for a study that will assess the appropriate type of carbohydrate in the diet for postmenopausal women.

To be eligible for the study, participants must be postmenopausal women between the ages of 50 and 70; have a family history of diabetes or heart disease; and have high cholesterol or triglycerides, or low good cholesterol.

Volunteers must not be diabetic or taking hormone replacement therapy. All participants will receive free diet counseling and a free cholesterol screening test.
