Shelley Fisher Fishkin champions long-lost Twain play, now on Broadway

English professor Shelley Fisher Fishkin rediscovered Mark Twain's long-overlooked Is He Dead?, a cross-dressing farce on the unlikely story of 19th-century French painter Jean-Francois Millet. Thanks to her efforts, the play has been published and makes its Broadway debut at the Lyceum Theater on December 9. In this interview, Fishkin discusses the play and its relationship to Twain's life and oeuvre.
