Honors & Awards

Francisco O. Ramirez, professor of education, and John W. Meyer, professor emeritus of sociology, have received a three-year grant worth $549,600 from the Spencer Foundation to support their research project, "The Worldwide Rise and Spread of Human Rights Education, 1950-2005." This mixed-methods study builds on prior comparative research on the rise of human rights as an international regime. That research was supported by the National Science Foundation and the Bechtel Initiative on Global Growth and Change at the Stanford Institute for International Studies.
