International Space Station astronaut to speak today

Lt. Col. Edward Michael Fincke, an astronaut who spent six months aboard the International Space Station in 2004, will speak about his experiences today at 4:15 p.m. in McCullough 115. Fincke, who received a master's degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford in 1990, will relate highlights of Expedition 9. These include conducting research on advanced diagnostic ultrasound in microgravity and witnessing the birth of his daughter from space. The Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Global Positioning System Lab are sponsoring this event.
